Oscar de la Renta truly understood women—their bodies, their minds—and knew how to reveal their inner beauty – probably better than most could do themselves. Mr. de La Renta created luxurious wrappings and adornments that instantly transformed each into a more confident and beautiful individual than they were before. While known for dressing first ladies, celebrities and socialites alike, even more importantly, Mr. de la Renta was able work his magic for thousands of women who never had the opportunity to meet him, but were able to walk into a store, slip into one of his designs and emerge with the same captivating allure as if he dressed them himself. I know that because I am one of them. It has always been a privilege to wear and own an Oscar de La Renta creation. I cherish the pieces I have in my wardrobe, including this sumptuous ruffled blouse I am going to wear today. Each item, whether it’s a dress, blouse, or pair of pants, makes me look and feel special every time I put it on.
